Organizations

I want to volunteer abroad, and have found some organizations. But how do I know if they are reputable? How do I know they won’t just take my money and run? How do I know I will be safe? I don’t know anyone else who has done something like this, so I have no one to ask!

I am particularly interested in joining youth challenge international. www.yci.org. Does anyone know anything about this organzation? Anyone have any tips for me as to how I can figure out which organizations are legit?

You can call the better business bureau (BBB) and see if they have any information on them. Also if you’re a college student visit you international studies or study abraod office and inquire with them…even if you’re not a college student you can visit your local public unversity and they will have tons of information on abroad organizations!    when trying to figure out if something is legit or not.. your best friend is honestly google.. google it and see what you can find out about it.. and youtube.. usually if it is a scam when you google you should have things pop up about it being a scam..
