The Contemporary Dance Concert is a selection of undergraduate student choreography performed and often lit by students. Here is a small recap of the production from Spring 2009.
www.csulb.edu/dance The Department of Dance at California State University, Long Beach is committed to artistic and academic excellence that promotes the value of dance for the individual and society. Our curriculum emphasizes modern dance performance and composition with supporting course work in ballet, jazz, tap, world dance, and dance theory. The course of study embraces creative, historical, and scientific perspectives of dance. The Department is also committed to the artistic enhancement of the campus and community through practical/theoretical dance courses for the general university student, performances, and residencies. In addition, the department avidly promotes the profession through creative and scholarly research, leadership in professional organizations, and participation in dance festivals/conferences at the regional, national, and international level.

The Children of the World choir ( playing and singing ) was founded to promote the well-being of humanity. The Children of the World appeared in the Paramount Studios’ feature film “FACE/OFF” with John Travolta and Nicolas Cage, executive produced by Michael Douglas. They also appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Entertainment Tonight, Access Hollywood, Extra, news broadcasts, movies and other television programs, nationally and internationally, the Special Olympics Opening Ceremony, . The World Cup may be the biggest story in Africa, but for many who live there, getting to see a game is not always easy.

Charity organizations are giving some of the continent’s most remote communities the chance to watch games on a big screen — as long as they watch an HIV/ Aids awareness campaign video first.

Al Jazeera’s Zeina Awad reports from a screening in Mtiba, a fishing village in Western Kenya where HIV infection rates are among the highest in the country.

Austrian journalist Jane Bürgermeister, who recently filed criminal charges with the FBI against the World Health Organization (WHO), the United Nations (UN), and several high ranking government and corporate officials concerning bioterrorism, has been fired from her job. On Monday, I was unexpectedly fired from my job as European Correspondent of the Renewable Energy World website, Bürgermeister writes on her blog.
Because there is reason to believe this decision was related to my filing charges alleging bioterrorism against the people of the USA and the rest of the world, and because I am entitled as a citizen to report a crime if there is credible evidence, I intend to file a lawsuit against Pennwell, a magazine, she explains. I have heard of other journalists fired or harassed for covering this subject.
In a document entitled Bioterrorism Evidence, Bürgermeister points to an international corporate
criminal syndicate and extensively details its plan to carry out mass genocide against the American people by unleashing a deadly flu virus and instituting a forced vaccination program.

There is proof many organizations — World Health Organization, UN as well as vaccine companies such as Baxter and Novartis — are part of a single system under the control of a core criminal group, who give the strategic leadership, and who have also funded the development, manufacturing and release of artificial viruses in order to justify mass vaccinations with a bioweapon substance in order to eliminate the people of the USA, and so gain control of the assets, resources etc of North America.

Bürgermeister says the core group sets its strategic goals in secret using the Trilateral Commission and Bilderberg meetings. It can be identified as the Illuminati, a mafia-like group with family dynasties at its center. It is the worlds first truly global crime syndicate based in off shore banking centers and employs international organizations such as the UN and WHO.

Rebiya Kadeer is the President of both WUC and UAA (Uyghur American Association), both are Washington-based American CIA destabilization organizations. UAA is directly funded by US government throught the CIA front organization “National Endowment for Democracy”. The operation meetings of WUC and UAA are regularily held inside the US government buildings in Washington DC with US government officials attended.

140 people have been killed and more than eight-hundred injured during violence in Urumqi, the capital of northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. That’s according to Xinjiang Public Security Department, which says the death toll is likely to climb.
Local government authorities say a separatist group masterminded Sunday’s violence, aiming to sabotage the country.

Rioters took to the street of Urumqi on Sunday evening.

They began by gathering, marching and demonstrating which then culminated in violent acts.

An initial investigation shows the violence was masterminded by the separatist group — World Uyghur Congress.

The group is led by Rebiya Kadeer — a former Chinese businesswoman.

The group has recently been instigating unrest via the Internet and by other means calling on the rioters “to be braver” and “to do something big.”

The Xinjiang regional government says terrorism, separatism and extremism… are behind the violence.

The Xinjiang regional government also says instigators began spreading information on the Internet on Saturday evening, calling for a demonstration in Urumqi.

And they say, on Sunday Rebiya called on her accomplices in the country to further incite unrest.

Regional government authorities say the situation is now under control.

Regional government authorities say police have arrested several hundred participants, including more than ten key figures who fanned the unrest. Police say they are still searching for about 90 other key figures behind the unrest.

According to author Kurt Beyer, Grace Hopper is arguably as important a figure to computing as Bill Gates, Larry Ellison and Steve Jobs, and serves as a responsible, civic-oriented role model for current and future technical and business leaders.

A Hollywood movie about the life of computer pioneer Grace Murray Hopper (1906-1992) would go like this: a young professor abandons the ivy-covered walls of academia to serve her country in the Navy after Pearl Harbor and finds herself on the front lines of the computer revolution. She works hard to succeed in the all-male computer industry, is almost brought down by personal problems but survives them, and ends her career as a celebrated elder stateswoman of computing, a heroine to thousands, hailed as the inventor of computer programming. Throughout Hoppers later years, the popular media told this simplified version of her life story. 


In his book, Grace Hopper and the Invention of the Information Age, author Kurt Beyer goes beyond the screen play-ready myth to reveal a more authentic Hopper, a vibrant and complex woman whose career paralleled the meteoric trajectory of the postwar computer industry, and discusses the indelible contribution she made to the nascent computer industry.

Hopper made herself one of the boys in Howard Aikens wartime Computation Laboratory at Harvard and then moved on to the Eckert and Mauchly Computer Corporation. She was influential in male-dominated military and business organizations at a time when women were encouraged to devote themselves to housework and childbearing. Hoppers greatest technical achievement was to create the tools that would allow humans to communicate with computers in terms other than ones and zeroes. This advance influenced all future programming and software design and laid the foundation for the development of user-friendly personal computers.

The Computer History Museum is proud to showcase the career and accomplishments of a genuine innovator, Grace Hopper. Among her many awards, Grace Hopper was the Computer History Museums first Fellow Award recipient for her development of programming languages, computer instruction, and her lifelong naval service. The complete list of her awards and degrees exceeds two full pages, including the National Medal of Technology and 37 honorary doctoral degrees.

She is most definitely a role model but not just for women. Author Kurt Beyer, who met Hopper while he was a student at the U.S. Naval Academy, says she influenced his own career choices first as a naval officer, then as an academic, and finally as an entrepreneur.
