The Random Adventures of Organization XIII

April 172010

Link to my uploads:
http://thesims2.ea.com/mysimpage/uploads.php?user_id=849608&asset_type=sim
*EDIT* Apparently, only Demyx is left on my uploads page. I don’t know what happened to the rest of them, I didn’t even get any notification that they had been deleted. Either way, Its probably best that I don’t re-upload just in case they were deleted for a reason. Sorry guys :(

A new Sims 2 KH vid :)
I have the whole Organization now (though Roxas doesn’t appear in this one.
Life is finally starting to look up for poor Xemnas until the rest of the Organization shows up at his house. And insanity ensues XD

Some of the clips didn’t turn out exactly the way I would’ve liked and a couple subtitles are off. There were also some clips I had to leave out because of length issues. But other than that I’m happy with it :)

You can find most of the Organization Sims stuff here:
www.modthesims2.com
And some here as well:

Noam Chomsky: The ACLU Is a Conservative Organization

April 22010

Noam Chomsky is an Institute Professor and professor emeritus of linguistics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Roger Nash Baldwin became head of the National Civil Liberties Bureau (NCLB) in 1917. An independent outgrowth of the American Union Against Militarism, the Bureau opposed American intervention in World War I. The NCLB provided legal advice and aid for conscientious objectors and those being prosecuted under the Espionage Act of 1917 or the Sedition Act of 1918. In 1920, the NCLB changed its name to the American Civil Liberties Union, with Baldwin continuing as its director and Walter Nelles as chief counsel. Jeannette Rankin, Jane Addams, Crystal Eastman, Albert DeSilver, Helen Keller, along with other former members of the NCLB, assisted Baldwin with the founding of the ACLU. Among the founding members was Felix Frankfurter, who later became an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States. DeSilver and Nelles were Baldwin’s closest associates.

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) consists of two separate non-profit organizations: the ACLU Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization which focuses on litigation and communication efforts, and the American Civil Liberties Union, a 501(c)(4) organization which focuses on legislative lobbying. The ACLU’s stated mission is “to defend and preserve the individual rights and liberties guaranteed to every person in this country by the Constitution and laws of the United States.” It works through litigation, legislation, and community education. Founded in 1920 by Crystal Eastman, Roger Baldwin and Walter Nelles, the ACLU was the successor organization to the earlier National Civil Liberties Bureau founded during World War I. The ACLU reported over 500,000 members at the end of 2005.

Lawsuits brought by the ACLU have been influential in the evolution of Constitutional law. The ACLU provides legal assistance in cases in which it considers civil liberties to be at risk. Even when the ACLU does not provide direct legal representation, it often submits amicus curiae briefs.

Outside of its legal work, the organization has also engaged in lobbying of elected officials and political activism. The ACLU has been critical of elected officials and policies of both Democrats and Republicans.

The ACLU was formed to protect aliens threatened with deportation, along with U.S. nationals threatened with criminal charges by U.S. Attorney General Alexander Mitchell Palmer for their communist or socialist activities and agendas. It also opposed attacks on the rights of the Industrial Workers of the World (IWW) and other labor unions to meet and organize.

They’re Out There: Tribute Honoring The Charitable Organizations Of The World

March 152010

A music video tribute I did for my last speech and presentation for my Public Speaking class.

When my class was given the assigment, we were told by our professor that we had to honor or pay tribute to someone or an organization. But I found out that I couldn’t honor just ONE person or group. So instead I dedicated this to various organizations around the world who make it their mission to help everyone.

The message here is that they deserve recognition, because as human beings we have a right of free-will and giving ISN’T something we HAVE to do; and that you don’t need a fat wallet to make contributions to help people. It can be anything from donating time to children, donating a can of food or a piece of clothing, or even you’re own blood.

If you’re in need, they’re out there. For all of us.

Hi everyone.  Welcome back to Clevver TV, Im Dana Ward talking about the Be the Beat initiative.

Not only do you get to learn how-to perform CPR, potentially life saving knowledge by going to the official site made for teens, but you can also create an avatar in The World of Hearts to play video games and take quizzes, all while learning about the heart and CPR.  Plus, an added feature is that you can listen to music and all of the songs available have 100 beats per minute which is the correct rate for chest compressions during CPR or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.  Very interesting.

Okay, guys so maybe youre thinking that youd rather play your favorite video game, but do me a favor and take a minute to learn a skill that might help save the life of someone you know.  This is good knowledge to have tucked away in your brain for when you might need it, and hello, the American Heart Association is making it entertaining for you!  Plus, you can even get free printable stickers, t-shirt decals, stationary and downloadable widgets and wallpapers.

Check out all the basics and specifics by going to BeTheBeat.heart.org.  Remember to comment about what you learned and subscribe to our YouTube page, Clevver TV.  Im your host Dana Ward thanks for watching!
