Obama: “I’ve been fighting alongside ACORN on issues you care about my entire career. Even before I was an elected official, when I ran Project Vote voter registration drive in Illinois, ACORN was smack dab in the middle of it, and we appreciate your work.” (Barack Obama 2008 Website, Accessed 10/8/08)
Obama Started Working With ACORN In 1992. “What’s more, Obama worked as executive director of ACORN’s voter-registration arm, Project Vote, in 1992. Joined by two other community organizers on Chicago’s South Side, Obama conducted the voter-registration drive that helped elect Carol Moseley-Braun to the Senate that year.” (Editorial, “Is ACORN Stealing The Election?” Investor’s Business Daily, 10/8/08)
“Obama Worked As An Organizer For Project Vote, An Acorn Offshoot.” “Early in his career, Obama worked as an organizer for Project Vote, an ACORN offshoot, and represented ACORN in legal actions, according to various published reports, including Associated Press articles. ACORN’s political action committee endorsed Obama in the primary.” (David M. Brown, “Obama To Amend Report On $800,000 In Spending,” Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, 8/22/08)
Time Magazine Described Project Vote As A “Non-Partisan Arm” Of ACORN. “David Leland [is] national director of Project Vote, a nonpartisan arm of the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN), which claims it has registered more than 50,000 voters in the Columbus area.” (Karen Tumulty and Perry Bacon, “Fighting For Every Last Vote,” Time Magazine, 10/18/04)
To This Very Day, ACORN’S Website Lists Project Vote As An Allied Organization. (ACORN Website, Accessed 10/14/08)

Obama has boasted of his experience as a community organizer. But what did he do in this capacity? He has been very quiet on this subject. We dont know of all of his activities but some have come out into the open.
One thing he did was to administer a multimillion charitable education fund, part of which was granted to William Ayers. This is the same Ayers who has admitted to bombing the Capitol and the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., and the police headquarters in New York City. The purpose of this fund was to teach radicalism to the students in Chicago. It was not for the purchase of textbooks, classroom supplies or equipment for science labs. The money was used to teach children to resist authority including parental authority. I find it hard to believe that Ayers would pick Sen. Obama for this post, or that Obama would have accepted the position, if both men did not agree on how the money was to be spent.
Part of the money was granted to an organization called ACORN. This group has been in the news quite a bit in the last few days. Two main objectives of ACORN are to intimidate bankers into giving home loans to people who do not really qualify. This is the no-job, no-income, no-down payment and no-possible-way-to-pay group that has been the heart of the current financial problem. The second objective is to register voters, especially ones who would vote for Democrats. As I write this letter, ACORN has been charged or is under investigation for registration fraud in at least 13 states. In Portland, Ore., of more than 1,400 voter registrations submitted, only six were valid. In a precinct in Nevada, ACORN tried to register the starting lineup for the Dallas Cowboys. In St. Louis, Mo., ACORN registered the name of the same woman 10 times, using several Social Security numbers and some different addresses. The registrar of elections could not even establish that the woman existed.
