I'm a co founder for a non profit organization called Softin. Our programs that we provide cost a lot of money, there's a lot of competition for funding grants and donations through various different companies. We have a funding project in which we collaborate with other non profits for funding solutions. What we have done to fund our organization is partnered up with the a company that is an International telecommunications provider that was started back in 1993. It's a 15 year old, world wide company that's in numerous countries on 3 contintnets. The world's largest
direct selling telecommunications service provider. The world's headquarters are in Farmington Hills, Michigan and headquarters in Charlotee, Amsterdam, Sydney and Montreal.

They have been featured in several magazines like USA Today, Success, Fortune etc. Inc 500 rated them the 22nd fastest growing company in revenue in it's first five years. Their revenue has quadrupled over the last five years alone.

They market in services people use every day and pay for anyway. Services like Local and Long Distance telephones, Internet, Digital, video phones, Satallite TV, and all the major cellular phone companies like Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, T-mobile, Nextell, Altell etc (this is for the USA, other cellular phone companies for each country. Top Carriers, latest plans and most popular equipment.

How many people do you know, or know of around the world that uses one or more of these services or products? Just about everyone around the world does. You help people save money on an existing service they have, as well as introducing them to new products and services around the world. Every time these people pay their bills each month on these services, your organization makes a percentage every single month.
If you think about how many people use these services world wide, their's a lot of money in this industry to be handed out to different organizations.
If you'd like further information on how to get your organization involved and bring in monthly funding for your non profit, your more then welcome to email me at tvague@seafaringopportunities.org
References :
www.seafaringopportunities.org

Non profit organisations still charge money for certain services. Non profit just means that all the money is laundered through the staff they employ for money, and any other outside capital or labour they contract or employ. In the long run, books are balanced so that the retained earnings from the company are such that they are not excessive.

They still hold assets and can consequently have liabilities on their balance sheet.

So the only difference really, is that there are no owners of profits (entitled to a chunk) other than spending the money on more capital and labour.

This also means that there are no owners to get more money from if the company runs short of money, or liquid assets.

So a not for profit organisation like Companies House for example, would be in trouble if it ran out of cash flow. It has no shareholders to tap if it is sued for an enormous amount for negligence. (which would not be covered under their insurance policy)
References :
A Non-Profit Organization, such as the one i represent, Interwave.co.uk, generate income or 'make money' by working much like a normal business does, the main difference is, any money made by a nonprofit organization must go back into the nonprofit organization, they are not allowed to earn a wadge from the money they earn as a profit. However they are under some conditions allowed to spend it on the members of the organization, like for example refreshments at a meeting but at Interwave.co.uk we don't as it would be a waste of money, instead we all put some money to gether to pay for refreshments. :)
References :
www.interwave.co.uk

I have a friend in California who runs a NPO and she has become a rep in a network marketing business which operates in the Telecommunications field.
What she does is help people save money on their normal services, but the company then pays a percentage of each monthly bill, which she puts towards the NPO's income.
The beauty of this is that the people using the service are saving money and at the same time donating every month to the NPO, even if they do not realise it.
Raising money for NPO's is not easy, asking people to donate out of their normal income regularly can become a strain, but this way they are saving and the NPO is gaining.
If you wish more information email me.
References :
Director of a Scottish charitable organisation.

Many not-for-profit organizations make money the same way as profit oriented businesses. The sell products and services. many others depend on donations, and some obtain money through government grants. Just because an organization is non-profit does not mean that it does not earn profits. It simply means that it does not have shareholders to whom it distributes those profits.
