How can I get experience at writing grant proposals for nonprofit organizations? Everyone wants experience.?
December 102009
I want to help other people, and I think that I would be very good at grant writing (I would be comfortable with the numbers side of it, meaning the schedules, etc.). Of course, one can buy a book on the subject, and that might not be a bad idea. But the big break would be for someone to say "Okay, so you really do not have any experience, but you seem very motivated. I will work with you to put actual grants together."
Is all of this asking too much. I am willing to do this on a volunteer basis, preferably "virtually" from home.
I would greatly appreciate any help. Thanks.
I know of a great organization that might be interested in providing you the opportunity you seek. Send an email to vice-president@kidsdefenseteam.com . This is an organization that advocates child safety online. You seem to have a good heart and the desire. I wish you well.

I am trying desperately to start a nonprofit organization in Louisiana. Not sure really how to go about it I would love any help that can be offered. This would assist people that have mental and physical disabilities.
