First meeting of Virginians Organized for Interfaith Community Engagement (VOICE) Oct. 5, 2008.
Virginians Organized for Interfaith Community Engagement (VOICE) is a broad-based organization that works to organize the communities of Northern Virginia across all religious, racial, ethnic, and class lines for the public good. VOICEs primary goal is to develop local leadership and organized power to fight for social justice. VOICE strives to hold both public and private power holders accountable for their public responsibilities.
VOICE is multi-issue. The issues VOICE works on come from within its institutions, from the concerns of the people. VOICE crosses neighborhood, racial, religious, and class lines to find common ground and act on our faith and democratic values.
VOICE is affiliated with the Industrial Areas Foundation (IAF) and is inspired by the 65 other IAF-affiliated organizations working in cities and metropolitan areas across the country. (See: www.industrialareasfoundation.org)

I think your bleeding-heart groups are giving you some lies also. Illegals do pay sales tax (how they define themselves as taxpayers) but for most illegals that is it. Most are paid by cash under the table without taxes taken out.
The Mayflower was not bound to immigration law back then and the slave ships were brought to the US with the consent of the colonists.

Those who “migrated” illegally should not get a second chance b/c it is unfair to those who came legally in the first place. Immigrating legally is extremely expensive and takes a long while (just ask some of my friends) and i cant imagine a bigger insult to legal immigrants than giving the same opportunity to those who came illegally.
Illegals may want a better future in the US but that gives them no right to get that future at the expense of taxpayers.

Boy, i’m a military brat myself, i dont need to be told that kids of illegals are dying in Iraq and Afghanistan. Yes, i believe that not entering the US properly and not going through the process is a crime. It may be hard to come to the US but it is hard for a reason.
