The Res, you rule!
ROLLGRAB makes a worthy point: why is it that we human beings will put up with anything? I guess we feel safer with the devils we know than the angels we don’t. Why do women stay with abusive boyfriends? The armchair moralists aren’t comfortable with these questions.
But… many people, despite their intent, can’t improve their lives alone. They need help. ROLLGRAB himself admitted this unwittingly when he said that Americans should find American charities to give to.

You would think …
You would think these people would spend their time trying to get out of a region with no drinkable water.
Incredible to choose to bring a child into that is not only irresponsible; but, despicable.

If you have ever …
If you have ever made a difference to another human being in the way this man has, you cant help but feel joy. Maybe you should start doing something just in your own community let alone in a foreign country to see exactly how he feels. You dont get into something like that and expect a pay off, however he has found the true meaning in that it is better to give than to receive.

Freedom is also …
Freedom is also important. But from the USA? The United States donates untold amounts of food, medicine, etc. to the people of Africa. Now, this hasn’t ended hunger, but to say that we’re “robbing” them doesn’t ring true.
America hasn’t created the political corruption that plagues and impoverishes Africa. Poorly drawn borders, post-colonial power vacuums, Cold War manipulation, etc. all are more important. Suffice to say, your view that the US is to blame is one of many. And not a likely one.

From the video: ” …
From the video: “it’s actually the #1 reason why girls drop out of school — because there’s no water or toilets at their school.”
So, apparently, small things like clean water, food, etc., are a prerequisite to education. Perhaps you might find it educational to peruse Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs.

what a stupid …
what a stupid question! even if i have never done anything to help other people, doesnt make it right to evangelize people in such a sneaky manner. they gave them water so that they can live their awful life in africa longer. they dont need water and religion, they need education so that they can help themselves and build their wells by themselves. and they need freedom from those who are robbing their countries and leaving it in a complete mess, which is mainly the usa. get some education fool!
