A local religous organization has made a monetary contribution to a campaign to retain in office some of our state judges. Judges are appointed, not elected, but they can be voted out of office in an election. There is a current effort to vote out some of our state Supreme Court justices and a religious organization made this contribution to the effort to retain them. Is this legal? Either way, please give citations. Thanks!

If a non-profit organization contributes to a political campaign they seriously risk their 501c3 status. The IRS seriously frowns on these kinds of things.

I would introduce the topic in the intro paragraph and then depending on how long your paper needs to be, develop a couple compare topics and a couple contrast topics in the body paragraphs. I always find it helpful to look at examples to better understand how to write specific types of essays:

How does one begin to help restoring confidence to people with extremely low egos? Also, if you are interested in helping beyond answering this question or joining my organization, please visit on face book. It’s called "rise above size zero"
Ok, so I would like to rephrase this, I started this organization but don’t know how to fun an organization, I DO know a lot about eating disorders. I have had friends who suffer from severe eating disorders and suffered from one myself and have been learning aboout it because I really WANT to help other people in this situation. However, I don’t know how to organize this, how to make it work. I have the information that could help but I don’t know how to spread the word and get people together. Thank you to those of you who were more patient with me.
p.s. visit us on facebook, the organization is rise above size zero

I think that’s the coolest thing in the world. I am so happy that there are others out there who enjoy helping people. You can start looking for people on the internet that are willing to talk and email the people with the eating disorders. I would love to talk to them and help them. I answer a lot of questions on this website with people with personal problems such as suicide, eating disorders, etc. I would love to help someone out! I am 16 and have been through a lot so I know how it feels when you need someone to talk to. If you need me to talk to anyone feel free to email me or give me their email. My email is thalili3@aol.com

Won’t it be necessary to keep repeating this sequence of "set objectives, try to meet those objectives" ?

Doesn’t the organization want to maintain an audit trail of all previous attempts at problem solution, which it can use to attempt to extrapolate to the real problem.

No that is not all a good organization does. Your first followup question is correct. Organizations should always reevaluate their status and situation and modify objectives based on changing circumstances and passed successes or failures.

They do in fact also want to maintain a history of what they have done. That does not really follow the definition of an "audit trail." Your second comment really deals with a different issue. Broad objective and goal setting is different from problem resolution.

I have been growing my hair out for a long time and it is finally time to cut it. However, I am unsure of what organization to donate to for I have heard some bad things about various organizations. I will have about 10-11 inches, where is the best place for me to donate my hair while knowing it will be given to a cancer patient for free?

Locks of Love is a great organization for hair donation.
Just a suggestion: I know Matter of Trust (another non-profit organization) is also accepting hair donations for the purpose of oil spill recovery (in the gulf). Hair is highly porous and absorbent, making it a great choice for oil clean up. They also accept donations of stockings and other nylon products, for the purpose of cleaning up oil spills.

This has been a long time coming and my dog is finally ready to take her test to become a therapy dog. However, I can’t decide on the best organization to go through: Delta, Therapy Dog International, or The Good Dog Foundation?
Looks like I’m going with Delta.

Love on a Leash also looks good, but is far from my home and doesn’t have the same availability that Delta does.

Thanks everyone!

I have experience with the Delta Society and Therapy Dogs International. My preference is for Delta for two main reasons:

1. They are far more accessible than TDI. In the 2 years I was with TDI they never once answered the phone or responded to an email from me. Delta, on the other hand has always answered the phone with a live person and has always responded to emails within 24 hours.

2. The Delta test is more thorough. If I was a facility considering a therapy dog program I would definitely prefer teams certified by Delta because their screening is more thorough.

Based on a book I recently finished reading entitled, "Nonprofit Bookkeeping & Accounting for Dummies" by Sharon Farris, the answer to your main question is the FASB – Financial Accounting Standards Board.
